The Five Best Pakistani Mobile Brands
If you’re looking to purchase a new smartphone or have been
considering moving to Pakistan, you may be curious about the country’s mobile
phone brands. Fortunately, there are plenty of excellent choices available on the
market, with dozens of outstanding smartphones made by local manufacturers that
deserve your attention and consideration. Read on to learn more about five of
the best Pakistani mobile brands and their top devices.
Mobilink
This is Pakistan’s first and only GSM operator. Mobilink was
founded in 1996, and its experience really shows in terms of coverage and call
quality. I have personally always used Mobilink for both personal and work
purposes because I know that it will be reliable at all times. Furthermore,
every family member has had a Mobilink mobile phone, as well as all my friends
- a testament to our trust in the company. They offer standard smartphones such
as iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus, and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for Rs 86000 only but the good old Nokia 3310 is still a favorite with its simple black-and-white screen!
Zong
Owned by China Mobile, Zong has successfully established
itself as one of Pakistan’s top mobile brands. Initially launched in 2005 and
known as Pak Telecom before rebranding to Zong in 2010, it began its operations
with innovative services and products like prepaid 3G/2G cards, internet
browsing services for postpaid customers, and its youth marketing campaign
Z-Ovation. It soon gained mass appeal with affordable handsets like the LG
Cookie L50 which offered amazing features at a price point of PKR 7,499. Today,
it is also one of only four operators offering 4G LTE packages.
Ufone
The mobile service provider was introduced back in 2003 by
Telenor, one of Europe’s largest telecom companies. Its name, which is an
acronym for Ufone Family Operator, is often used as a synonym for mobile phone.
Ufone can boast of being Pakistan’s first 3G-enabled and 4G-ready network, with
more than 85 million subscribers and a presence in 14 markets across Pakistan.
Its parent company also operates in Norway, Denmark, Poland, Hungary, and
Sweden. How about that?
Telenor
Founded in 1993, Telenor is a mobile network operator that
has operations in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, and Hungary. The company has
gained popularity because of its affordable cell phone plans and reasonable
smartphone models. Most of Telenor’s smartphones are priced under $250; for
example, one model is priced at $129.95 and runs on Android's 6.0 Marshmallow
operating system.
Jazz
What makes Jazz handsets stand out is that they feature a
simplistic design that doesn’t overwhelm consumers with bloatware and
unnecessary add-ons. Each handset has a dual camera, making it one of only two
phone brands in Pakistan to do so; one is perfect for taking professional-looking selfies, while its 13MP main camera takes clear, high-quality shots of
your life and surroundings. The 5.5-inch display on each Jazz mobile device
makes them great for watching videos too, helping you relax after a long day at
work or school. To top it all off, these handsets are available on an
affordable monthly installment plan (EMI) as well as upfront – what’s not to
love?
