Kellogg's is Recalling Four Breakfast Brands due to an odor from the liner
Working in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Kellogg Company voluntarily recalls certain breakfast cereals due to off-flavor and odor emanating from the package liner.
The recall includes select packages of Kellogg's Corn Pops, Kellogg's Honey Smacks, Kellogg's Froot Loops, and Kellogg's Apple Jacks. The recall only includes products with the letters "KN" followed by a "best before" date. Products marked "KM" are excluded from returns. Also, it does not apply to any products in Canada.
Although the potential for serious health problems is low, some consumers are sensitive to off-flavors and odors and should not consume the recalled products due to possible temporary symptoms, including nausea and diarrhea.
This recall does not affect other Kellogg's products. The recalled products were distributed across the country.
"We apologize to our customers and consumers and are working diligently to immediately remove the affected products from the market," said David McKay, president, and chief executive officer of Kellogg Companies.
